Sun City Texas is located in historic Georgetown, Texas. The community offers the charm of small-town living, yet is just minutes from the culture and excitement of Austin, the state capital. The State of Texas has no income tax so the primary source of funding for our public schools is through real estate property taxes. Sun City covers two school districts, Georgetown ISD and Jarrell ISD. Home values are determined by the county assessor. Actual taxes are calculated using the the assessed value mulitplied by the tax rate. The 2010 rate for Georgetown ISD is 2.13%. The 2009 rate for Jarrell ISD is 2.2%.
