Common Terms:
Cash flow: Net income after mortgage costs and expenses
GRM: Gross rent mulitplier - usually sales price divided by gross rental income.
ROI: Return on investment. Usually includes appreciation.
Cash on Cash: Same as ROI but does not include appreciation
Cap Rate: Rate of return on your investment.
Boot: Although it is not used in the Internal Revenue Code, the term Boot is commonly used in discussing the tax implications of a 1031 Exchange. Boot is an old English term meaning Something given in addition to.
