Wastewater Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and the Brazos River Authority (BRA) are doing a joint development project for wastewater in the area.

Electricity Pedernales Electric can provide above or below ground service to the area. They have recently upgraded a substation in the area for current planned development and a second site is in the works for additional capacity.

  

 

Roads-Williamson Countyand the Capitol Area Regional Mobility Authority (CARMA) review site plans and subdivision proposals. Regional road plans are currently in place through 2030 at this time. New projects, roads and improvements are ongoing. Roads off CR 279 may need some improvement or widening to sustain development. It is yet to be determined if this can be a county project with credits to the developer.  

The new toll Road (hwy 183A) has just opened and the light rail commuter line is nearing completion scheduled to open in early 2009. They are both just north of Leander.

The area is gaining national attention from developments like the entertainment center. It is expected 350,000 visitors will come to "The X Park" in its first year of operation, 30,000 to 40,000 per weekend, 1.8 million visitors during its first five years.

Article: Medical networks respond to the population increase  One of the biggest concerns facing Central Texas healthcare providers is meeting the needs of the regions rapidly growing population, said Mark Clayton, senior vice president for strategic planning and development with St. Davids HealthCare. Area healthcare networks are addressing this issue with new hospitals and updated facilities.

• In February, the Seton Family of Hospitals will open Seton Medical Center Williamson in Round Rock.
• Last month it unveiled Cedar Park Regional Medical Center in partnership with Community Health Systems, Inc.
• Scott & White also brought a new Round Rock hospital on University Boulevard, Scott & White University Medical Campus, which partners with Texas A&M University, last summer.
• St. Davids HealthCare is building a womens facility that after completion will double the North Austin Medical Centers current capacity for womens and maternity services.

 Theres enough growth in this county that, although I believe we will be in an over-bedded situation for a couple of years with all the new facilities, ultimately theres going to be plenty of patients for all of us to take care of, said Hugh Brown, CEO for St. Davids Georgetown Hospital.
